Lawn, Trees & Shrubs

60-ft Pecan Tree?
No Problem

Here in North Texas we are faced with a lot of challenges when it comes to our landscaping. Due to our wide and occasionally extreme weather conditions, minimizing the expenses of replacing lawns, trees and bedding plants is sometimes all we can strive for.

Things to look out for

In addition to environmental damage, the following can wreak havoc on your landscape

Ants Tending Aphids

Ants have a symbiotic relationship with aphids, tending them for their honeydew, and protecting them from predators.

Web Worms & Caterpillars

Webworms are caterpillars that weave loose webbing around the tree while eating leaves, which results in plant stress and leaf damage.

Leaf Spots & Plant Fungus

When microscopic spores invades a leaf, sporulation, the fungal method of reproduction occurs and fungal leaf spot begins to grow.

Lawn Fungus

Your lawn is full of fungus and spores, some harmless and some problematic, but certain conditions can cause harmful diseases.

Ornamental / Fruit Tree Spraying

A consistent spray schedule is important to the survival of your trees, keeping pests and diseases at bay before they even begin.

Unfortunately, there are no “MAGIC BULLETS” for some of the pests attacking our landscape.

Some pests can even co-exist with each other and aid in turning a landscape pest into a structure invading pest, just by the nature of their location and habits.

For example, many types of ants feed on the honeydew from aphids, (sugars they excrete from sucking on plants), you know, the stuff that’s really hard to get off your car’s windshield when you park under a tree in the summer.

This is a favorite food source for some sugar feeding ants. Carpenter Ants will protect the aphids from predators, such as Lady Bugs, to maintain that food source while not harming the aphids. This can make biological control (lady bugs, nematodes, etc.) a real challenge.

Plants next to windows and doors can also harbor wasps, mites, spiders, etc. Those too can become a structural pest problem.
